"Great place to stay in central Ambleside. Nice room and bathroom, great location to start various walks and close to bus station for trips elsewhere. Good breakfast. Room was clean but used wine glass from previous person left in room although otherwise clean place"

"The staff are amazing, friendly and helpful. The food was good 👍 The rooms are a little tired but I know the owners have plans for improvements and when complete this will be a gem of a hotel. Location is perfect especially if walking Cumbria way."

"The room was spacious and clean, bath robes and slippers, complementary drinks, tea and coffee machine in the room. The bed was very comfortable and big and the shower pressure was amazing. They have a small spa, sometimes there's no one in there and you can have it all to yourself. It was a charming place and probably one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. Special thanks to the staff, who are caring and always happy to help. Cannot wait to visit again."

"Loved the room and the view. Very comfortable but no heating. (Sept). Fine the first night but was cold the second night. Light breakfast was help yourself. Was ok but would have been better if they had plates for your toast and metal cutlery. All cutlery was wooden and cardboard dishes for cereal. Didn’t put us off though. Had a lovely time."

"The hotel was very well maintained and super clean one of the nicest hotels we’ve ever stayed in the Uk, the staff went above and beyond and were very accommodating they kept our luggage as we planned a hike and the breakfast was lovely too. We hadn’t had the time to use the spa facilities or anything else. We would recommend this hotel as everything is super close and convenient. Thank you to all the staff"
