Big Bear Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"Very quaint place with modern amenities. Mom-and-pop motel, locally owned, and well maintained. Owners and managers pay attention to every detail of the property, inside the rooms and outside. Very pleasant experience. Will definitely visit again!"
"The house and grounds were clean. The kitchen is very large and has seating for 13. The kitchen island is very large, which allows for several people to get involved with meal prep. The kitchen is well appointed. The kids had a great time exploring the beach. We played games in both the back and the front yards. The location provides easy access to Alpena's shopping and restaurants. The driveway is wide, paved, and can accommodate more than 4 vehicles. We would be happy to stay here again."
NEW LISTING! Spacious 4-bedrooms lake front retreat in delightful Alpena area.

"The property is very close to the town of Alpena... A very neat town of about 9000 people.. many things to do in and around town... The property has a large front lawn area with a fire pit... Plenty of room where we tossed Frisbee, and did some other things... The back patio area is great for lounging around and enjoying food and drinks and views of the lake... The family enjoyed the use of the kayaks... there was always a bald eagle or two flying around... And the beautiful sound of loons calling to each other... The house was well equipped with everything we needed"

"Petoskey stone heaven, just grab a couple for a souvenir. Strong internet, owner friendly and helpful. There’s a few condiments, ice cream, etc in frig. He encourages you to use it! Good mattress , great bath towels. Back up generator kicked on for a few minutes while while we were there. Water filter at the sink, kayak and canoe. It gave my spouse some peace from unavoidable changes at work to be there. Also, there are curtains in bedrooms and bathroom, I couldn’t be sure from the photos. You’ll love it."
"It was a nice, brand-new hotel. We booked last minute to visit family. The assistant manager was sweet and professional. This will be our top pick when traveling to Alpena. "
