"We were very happy for our stay in Villa Sofia. We were 4 generations – my husband and I, our son and daughter in law, our 5 grandchildren with wife/girl/boyfriends and our great grandson age 3½ year. A house with 7 bedrooms was needed – and Villa Sofia were perfect- with 3 separated apartments. The landlord had arranged a big table for us so we all could be together for the meals. "My husband & I and two other couples stayed at Penelope Home for 5 nights. The home is located about halfway between the 2 airports on Crete. (About an hour each direction) We liked the central location and enjoyed hikes, caves, the beach and other activities. The suggestions for restaurants and bakeries by our host were spot on. The host also handled our transfers which was very much appreciated."

There is also a large terrace overlooking the pool where we spent much time relaxing. "Set in a rural village location, this spacious villa was just right for us. The furnishings and equipment are not new but they all work and are not shabby. We felt at home and spent most of our two weeks in and around the villa. Richard, the owners agent, introduced himself and he was really helpful and friendly.. We would be happy to stay here again. "We wanted to experience Crete's culture. You really cannot do that when you stay in a hotel with 500 or your favorite friends!! This Villa is located about 30 minutes from Rethymno. Nestled in the foothills surrounded by olive orchards at about 1100 feet above sea level. We were there for 18 days. We discovered a Taverna (Mina's) in Garazo about 15 minutes away. The owners MADE our stay! Genuine Cretan food and hospitality."

"Maria cares deeply about your visit and responds to any need. The house is wonderful with a lovely fruit and vegetable garden in the backyard. It is a very short 3 minute walk to the center of the beach and our favorite taverna, Mythos. There was a reserved parking place for our rental car at all times. The outdoor shower was fantastic. I highly recommend this property and hope to visit again!"

"The hotel, location and staff are top. We couldn‘t recommend enough this place! The hotel staff are always willing to help and solve. We fell ill and the staff quickly helped us find a doctor and also helped us cooking special food. They also immediately provided support with our booking, as a consequence of the mistake made by Expedia. Food was great and every day you can find something different, we were too unlucky we couldn‘t try them after we became ill, but even the diet food was great. We really enjoyed our trip there and of we were to go back, we would certainly do it to this hotel."
