"Very happy with the hotel. Staff helpful, room clean and walk in shower good. No lift but staff took suitcase up two floors to room. Plenty of free public parking if we couldn’t get into hotel car park. Seven minutes walk to Alnwick Gardens and Castle."

"This was a very convenient stopover for me travelling back from Orkney. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I was also taking the opportunity to visit Barter Books - The Oaks is just a 5 min walk up the road and oh so convenient !!"

"Large bedroom and ensuite with plenty of hot water! Friendly owners and excellent cooked breakfast with plenty of breakfast choices. An information folder may have been useful with local pubs for dining. Location is good for visiting castles and coast."

"What a fabulous friendly place. We came on Friday night when they were having a charity night quiz. What an amazing atmosphere the people were just so lovely. We’ll be back again and hopefully join in this time. The landlady Clair had seen us standing and came over and found us a table. Although we didn’t have tickets for the quiz we felt very much a part of it Thank you"
