We had a wonderful time with my wife and two little one loved the location of it it was a few minutes walk to the lake close to Alden and nestled in a nice shady area! We will book again!
property is dated but clean very close to town a short walk. very quiet needs a little updating but overall host was very helpful and accommodating
overall nice stay everything we needed and location is great Alden is a nice town
Over all, we were satisfied with our stay although the futon and sofa were not comfortable in our opinion. We would also suggest that you bring your own water since there was a metallic taste to the water from the faucet.
Cabin was nice. Clean, and well maintained. Only reason not given 5 stars was no WI-FI, or cable TV. We had a very nice time taking walks with our 3 dogs and location was close to visit transverse city and Charlevoix
We had a very disappointing experience with this property and feel obligated to warn future guests. When we arrived, it was immediately clear the unit had not been cleaned from the previous guests. When we pulled back the sheets on the main bed, we found multiple types of hair under the sheets along with visible stains. Hoping it was just that bed, we checked the spare bedding, but all of it was also dirty, stained, and covered in hair.We pulled out the futon hoping it might be usable, but it was covered in dog hair and sand from previous guests. At that point it was obvious the unit had not been properly cleaned between stays. We also found both live and dead bugs in the unit.We attempted to contact the host and reached out to VRBO through their platform while we were there. After getting nowhere and realizing the property was not in a condition to stay in, we left after about an hour and booked a hotel instead. The next morning the hosts messaged us through VRBO agreeing to a 100% refund, but when we attempted to get the refund they denied it. Despite the written agreement, VRBO was zero help resolving the situation. The listing’s claims about cleanliness were misleading, the unit was clearly not cleaned between guests, and the hosts went back on their promise to refund us. I would strongly recommend avoiding this property.
