Beautiful studio in Akumal, Half Moon Bay

Situated in the center of Half Moon Bay this studio has the white sandy beach, and a natural aquarium waiting just for you. The Casita is conveniently located on the garden area of Luna Azul Condos, just a few steps away from great snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, diving or just relaxing on the palapas! With 2 queen sized beds, sleeps 4. The unit is clean and comfortable with satellite television, a private bath, and well equipped kitchen area that includes microwave, refrigerator, toaster oven, stove-top, coffee maker, and breakfast bar, as well as WIFI and free parking for guests right in front of the condo.

Half Moon Bay is a very magical, relaxing and fantastic place that will let you experience one of the most amazing gifts from nature, which is to be able to see the nesting of female turtles and the hatching of their babies. You can see a turtle lay its eggs and bury them and on the same night you can see a nest hatch right in front of you… an experience of a life time!! And all these can be witnessed just a few steps from my condo.

Casita Sur has a great central location, within walking distance you can find Akumal's Yal-Ku Lagoon... simply put a heaven for snorkeling! You can see turtles, parrot fishes, rays, and fascinating marine life. A unique place where the clear and salty water of the Caribbean Ocean meets with the fresh water of the Lagoon Yal-ku.

Conveniently located just a few steps away from La Buena Vida restaurant, a walking distance beach and five restaurants nearby makes this condo one of the most demanded properties for vacation in Akumal. Stay here and reconnect with nature by doing it all or doing nothing at all!

Disappointed

The Good: Location to the beach (not facing the beach but about a 30 second walk around the corner). Within Walking distance to great places to eat. Safe community. The price was good but you get what you pay for. The Bad: The Studio has a very musty smell (my clothes even after being washed still stink from the closet). Ants....crawling in the kitchen even though we didn't ever leave food out. Uncomfortable Beds. Bathroom super small. Noise from the road right outside the front door. I would not stay here again.

Very nice little home with everything you need.

This casita is perfect for two people who do not require a lot of space but still want to cook and relax in a comfortable room. It's just steps from the beach and restaurants in Akumal. I would only suggest to avoid Akumal during the very high season between Christmas and early into the New Year. I have been to Akumal a number of times and now the busy season is just too much for me. Other parts of Yucatán were fine but anything around Cancun is frightening!!

Casita Sur Bienvenidos Akumal, Half Moon Bay If you plan to hear birds chirping and smell the fresh ocean breeze in the morning, you should stop looking at this property. You won't even hear the AC or refrigerator working because of the loud, unstoppable noise from outside , which resonates through the whole house. It sounds nearly like there's a farmer's tractor right behind the window. So to fall asleep, you have to shut all the windows and plug your ears tightly. I contacted an owner right when we arrived, and she said it might be a nearby condominium's water pump. She hasn't tried to solve this problem. Don't count on Wi-Fi : to check our mail, we had to go outside on the beach, and when we tried to watch Netflix on a rainy day, we were unsuccessful. There is not a single pot to cook with, only a couple of small saucepans. You definitely can't cook any spaghetti. The capacity of the stove is very low, so we used the provided microwave, but it was shutting down the circuit breaker from time to time until it stopped working completely. We can't really complain about the size of the bathroom: it's OK for skinny people, but we were provided only beach and bath towels for each person, shampoo, and a soap bar. That's all. No conditioner, no lotion, no hair dryer. And the window above the toilet faced the neighbor condo's entrance door . There is no way to hide your body when you come out of the shower. No curtains. No privacy. For the high price we paid for 2 weeks (in the high season), not worth it.

Steps to the beach, nicely appointed and well maintained.

We've stayed in a couple different places on Half Moon Bay and this one did not disappoint. The unit was well maintained and housekeeping did a great job of keeping things clean and neat. We used the kitchen regularly and didn't lack for utensils, dishes or cookware. The unit is well situated away from the busy village center, but close enough to walk for meals or services.
