"We were checking in really late as our flight was a late one coming in. Friendly and lovely guy welcomed us and checked us in. The rooms absolutely surprised me, great amenities, including slippers. Only reason I am not scoring full marks overall is the blinds in the room are flimsy, we struggled getting them properly shut and had to phone for help. Help came quickly and issue sorted, however they do still let the light in. (We would prefer blackout blinds) Also downer was the lady who checked us out did not acknowledge us, we waited about for someone and then when she came through, she went on the phone (sounded like an internal call) before and without even acknowledging our presence. Would have given it a lower review because of that lady, left sour test. Luckily for the hotel they have a great thing going elsewhere. "

"Clean room was upgraded as first room was a disabled room reception were so helpful and ensured we had robes for spa area Sophie definitely went above and beyond so attentive with a great customer care approach for such a young lady a great representative of the Hilton Brand please pass on my comments "

"We needed lodging for one night. The room was clean and comfortable. LOVED the bath tub! So many hotels have gone to shower only; I dislike that choice. Adjacent restaurant, Beefeater, was friendly, kind, & tasty. Parking lot & walkway were needing some attention. They were dirty and not smoothy paved. "

"This property is in bad need of an update. The carpets are worn. The walls are damaged and dirty. The bathroom in our room had numerous odors emitting from it at different times of the day - something skunky, something sewer-like and just plain mildew. The floor was worn and waterlogged. The shower curtain didn’t reach the entire length of the tub so it was easy to splash water onto the floor while showering. Someone on the floor above us was running annd stomping around until after 1. The room was stifling hot, with no ac and zero air circulation because the window only cracks open a few inches. There was a fan that we had to leave on the entire time and it did very little to circulate the air or alleviate the odors. The location is convenient to go between Glasgow and Edinburgh. The town has a train station. The area seemed safe and quiet. It was one of very few available options for a very busy week in Edinburgh. We will not be staying here again. "
