Cruceiros are everywhere in Galicia, stone crosses on a high stone pole having various significations. Typically with Jesus on one side and Mary on the other but this varies. Some will date back to the 14th century, some are as recent as from the late 19th or early 20th. Typically posted at intersections locals will tell you they keep away bad spirits and help you make the right choices in life.
