"Maria Cristina is undoubtedly a beautiful, characterful hotel. The Basque welcome from reception was really appreciated. We received a lovely glass of the local wine and the person who checked us in was so pleasant and helpful and that theme continued throughout. The reception and door staff couldn’t do enough. We had room 301. An upgrade from the garden view we had booked. A spacious room, very comfortable bed, Byredo products. On the downside there weren’t any tea / coffee making facilities!...

"Impressive building, right on the seafront, nice character. Really lovely staff and service. Nice decor in the rooms, furnished to a high standard, big beds, nice linen and many pillows! We were kindly upgraded (bc Gold Hotels.com member?) to a sea view room, which was lovely. Despite the rain getting in and soaking the carpet by the French windows (just an upkeep issue).
