"Needed a place close to Shropshire to visit rellys - my wife found this online and the photos and reviews were stellar. The longest, twistiest single lane country road with flocks of bantams took 15 minutes to reach the lodge from theain A road. Crazy! Fortunately, no one came the other direction so only the wildlife provided the hazards. The lodge is a converted barn/stables/something old and quirky. It has wifi and very polite staff. "This is a beautiful house right in Ironbridge! We would very happily go back, the house is beautifully decorated, very well equipped, the owners thought of everything. My daughter loved the games and chess board. With the cottage being right by the bridge, the view is lovely! Super comfortable bed, 5 stars!! The pedestrian street is so pretty, you must go up the hill and do the round loop, beautiful and peaceful."

"A very special place to stay as this was the family home of Florence Nightingale. We stayed in two bedrooms which were the rooms that she grew up in before she went to Crimea. This is not a hotel. It’s more of a guest house with a few of the rooms rented out on a nightly basis. The property is accessed through several gates so it’s on very private land. The views are amazing of the local countryside and there’s a very beautiful garden around the house and sheep in the fields a little further...

"In an idyllic setting, an excellent base for holidaying around Matlock/Derbyshire . Everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The welcome pack included a bottle of my wife's favourite wine. The owner checked to see if everything was to our satisfaction. Would certainly recommend it. "
