"Its with heavy heart, at times you leave reviews that are harsh , but you hope balanced.
The hotel is very pretty and in a nice settings. Checking in very fast and efficient with good service.
The room was very nice and bathroom clean.
We used the bar, which was okay.
The only issue was the bed and the pillows . This is a matter of choice, however very uncomfortable.
The price I had was very good that made the issue less of an issue."
"hotel very central and staff welcoming. However, servicing of room left much to be desired. On arrival, only one teabag between us and then realised in morning that we had only one towel.
Would have expected room to be serviced in the morning but apart from replenishing the bottled water, teabags and milk not topped up, mugs and glasses not washed and bed unmade.
Breakfast cold buffet items ok but coked food although tasty was fairly dried out."
"Probably one of the worst 3 star hotel bedrooms (room 12) we have ever stayed in. The bathroom was terrible, ceiling paint was peeling off, shower seal was broken causing the floor to flood, toilet roll holder was hanging off, soap dispenser was broken, door handle did not work and signs of damp or roof leak staining on the ceiling.
The bedroom was no better, window was rotten and could not be opened. Paint peeling off the window and radiator, black mould on the window catch, provided fan was...
"Helpful staff but booked an air con room. Air con wasn't working. We swopped rooms and a fan was provided but was really loud so could only use intermittently. Bad night's sleep."
"This is such a charming inn that has been around for over 800 years, which means you are in an old building with no lift and small, winding hallways. These features add to the charm. Our room was spacious and comfortable. My son slept on a sleeper sofa that had the best mattress I've ever seen on a sofa bed and the towels were the softest I've ever had. "Very impressed with the room, as well as the entire place. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with all aspects of our stay. Room was fantastic. 1st bed I was able to sleep on in my multiple stays over the last month of travel. Just steps from the train station and shuttle provided to Stonehenge. All amenities were provided and the breakfast was excellent! I can’t recommend this place any greater than to say I will be back someday, if I am lucky."
"Room 3, an Indugence Room. I’d say it could be more indulging - larger bed, mattress topper, bathrobes - for example. Unfortunately it’s above the pub so can be noisy, especially when the staff run up and down the creaky stairs - we spent the night in our room and it was a constant irritation.
But other than that, the food is excellent, lovely decor, nice atmosphere, and Stockbridge is awesome."
"Stayed here a few times now and like it a lot. The staff is great, it’s easy to get to, great for parking, clean, and you can even walk to a great view of Stonehenge if you’re up for a wander. Breakfast is excellent and dinner and drinks are good in the common area. Great place."
