"We stayed at the Pearls for one night but it was great. We needed to do some washing and were able to wash and dry before leaving. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We went to the beach in the morning for a run along the promenade - only challenge was getting there as the Pearls didn't seem to have direct beach front access but we navigated the mall and made our way down. "The hotel was really nice. The staff did help us in many areas but even though they lived in Durban their knowledge was fairly limited about the area. All we were told was not to go out at night as it was not safe for white people. Even during the day do not wear a watch or show your phone. When I asked about groceries or getting a sim card they didn'r really know where I should go. Eventually a porter told me the best place to go which was only a 5 minute walk. "Our kids loved the different pool options, slides, playground, trampoline, and mini golf. The nature reserve walk right next door offered a great opportunity for a scenic break. The two bedroom and living room was a comfortable option for 5 travelers with great ocean views. The restaurant specials and accommodations to kids particular requests were some of the best meals we had all trip. Great option to stay when traveling through Durban King Shaka International Airport."

"We were kept up all night by noisy neighbors (residents) who had a part next to our bedroom. Although staff tried to help things did not improve. Not wanting to risk this happening again we felt forced to move to a different location, despite having only used 1 of our 5 nights rental. We were not compensated for this in any way and management failed to reach out to us, even though we’ve made at least 5 attempts to contact them. Don’t go there. Location not good either"
