"The room was great, bed very comfy, bathroom had a good shower. We had a meal in the restaurant and the service was slow. The food was generally agreed to be very good, one of the starters was small and not very hot. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to friends. "

Parking looks like it could be a problem at times, but we didn't have any trouble. You are in the middle of Keswick, so it is an easy walk into the centre of town. We would highly recommend."

"The Borrowdale Gates is a total gem. It exceeded our expectations. The staff are professional and accommodating. The breakfasts were great and we dined in all 4 nights - a first for us - largely because the cuisine and attention to detail was superb. AND the view from the dining room was breathtaking."

"What a find! This beautiful hall is just perfect. Fabulous location with peacocks and lovely trails to walk in the extensive grounds. Our room had a super king bed and usual facilities. There is a spacious dining room and well stocked bar. You won't go away hungry as the food is excellent with generous portions. Very friendly and helpful staff. It's a must visit! "

"The hotel was very well presented in a scruffy and disappointing town. The quality of the catering at the hotel was exceptional. Some of the best food I’ve eaten in an hotel in a very long time. The menu was imaginative with some nice detail and the delivery exceeded expectations. The town wouldn’t attract me back but I would be prepared to travel some distance to sample the food again."

The little things matter and the place has plenty of quality. The hot tub was a nice extra as was the piano in the lounge area. Very clean and tidy.
