"The room was basically dirty & scruffy.
Linen & towels ok but the floor needed vacuuming & bathroom floor around skirting looked like had never been cleaned.
Staff seemed stretched & too busy, most of the dinner menu was sold out & my partners poached eggs on toast resembled hard boiled eggs on toast as overdone.
The pub is in a great location & my overall stay was not awful but should have been better.
The room was only £65 so wasn't expecting the Ritz but expected a clean room without flaking...
"The Sawmills was an absolute gem of a find along the coast path. Friendly staff, great food and a great night's sleep. Highly recommended - would definitely stay again!"

"This is most certainly not a 4-star hotel, as Expedia suggests, and it certainly isn;t worth £100 per night. £50 would be overpriced!
The rooms are tiny; the TV is about the size of an iPad and doesn't work anyway; there is no bar or restaurant, except for stale bread and mouldy fruit for breakfast; the towels were old and frayed at the ends. I could go on.
The property has huge potential, but it doesn't appear that any maintenance has been carried out for years.
I would recommend looking...
"Lovely people running a lovely hotel serving excellent food. However - and this was self inflicted as all the information is given when booking -we were in one of the two 'small double' rooms and I missed the fact that the room hss a small double bed as well as being a small room! My mistake just be aware. I'd happily stay here again just in a bigger room. Dunster Castle is a short uphill walk away and well worth a visit. The West Somerset Railway is pretty close and also a very good trip."
"Lots of parking at the rear of the pub. Food was amazing & choice of drinks. Our room was lovely. Good size, bed was amazing and en-suite with bath. The inn had a lot of character. Very quiet village so we spent the evening in the pub with other couples staying at the Inn."

Great hotel to access Exmoor and surrounding towns. Relaxing location with some life around it. You could arrive for 2 nights and also not go anywhere."
