"The hotel was lovely and staff very welcoming. We had a cozy room, which was exactly that, small and cozy but had lovely linen, air conditioning, complimentary toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities and copious amounts of hot water. A nice addition was a small fridge. We didn’t plan to spent our days inside so it was perfect. It is a prefect base to explore the lovely town of Christchurch and local areas. Room was okay although the wooden blinds let light around the edges, and with a security light blazing all-night directly at our room (303), it was difficult to sleep. Room was clean and tidy but no free bottled water, only limited tea & coffee. Full English breakfast, both vegan and meat, were very nice. Car parking a little pricey, on-road parking right outside the hotel is £10 (RingGo 59151) between 9am - 5pm and free outside these hours. No lift so...

"This hotel has the potential to be a brilliant place to stay but it needs a serious refurb in its current state. Arriving, the entrance and lobby were well maintained and nicely decorated however, entering the first floor you notice the office like false ceiling. This continues through the corridors and into the rooms. Loosing roughly 18 inches of ceiling height makes the rooms feel much smaller and gives quite a cheap characterless feel to the room. "Very charming hotel, beautiful courtyard. I am very happy I got to experience this 800 year old hotel with such a pretty site especially that I came all the way from San Francisco. The only common is that we happened to stay during the heatwave, the room is extremely hot, and the room facing the street it is loud with party peorple walking by and talking loud - drunk on a Sat. night. Otherwise, I love my stay and highly recommended."
