"Lovely place to stay. Excellent breakfast.
Slight problem with, I presume memory foam mattress which is far hotter than we are used to.
We also invited friends over for a meal in the bistro. Very disappointing, very slow to get the meals (over 30 minutes?). I think my burger had been sitting around on a hot plate for ages as the bun was totally dried out and hard, my husband said the same of his. Our guests obviously didn't complain apart from we had specifically ask for no tomato on one of...
"The room was lovely although the rest of the hotel was tired and looked run down and closed from the outside. I would not have felt safe staying there if I had travelled on my own."
"Nice property, well equipped kitchen. Great location ( near pub, shops, fantastic cafe. ) The only downside was automatic check in didn’t go smoothly and very hard to contact anyone so took almost an hour of hanging around before we could access room. Such a shame because otherwise it was great! Hopefully this will be rectified and not happen in the future for other guests."
"The room was lovely. Room 5. It had a refurbishment. It was like staying in a country cottage. It was very clean. Tea/coffee making facilities. Good selection of breakfast you could have. Full english was very tasty. The staff were polite. The bar was a bit pricey along with the food."
"We stayed here two years previous. The location of the property and the hotel itself are excellent.
We also found the food excellent (better than last time). However, the service was poor - they felt understaffed and even non busy mealtimes seemed a strain on resources. Not very efficient…
The hotel could be excellent, but just felt lacking on this occasion."
