"Quite poor. The most uncomfortable bed I slept in, had a loose cable on the outside bang on the window all night, plumbing was making really loud noises that kept waking me up. In terms of cleanliness, mould in the bathroom, could see someone else shaved there as there was lots of cut hair on the floor. Overall, if it wasn't for the staff being very polite, it would've been a 1 star"

"We often stay here and usually sleep well although this time we were in room 125 and there was a constant sound similar to air conditioning (ours wasn’t on) though the night."

"2nd stay at the Parkgate. Fantastic hotel in the centre of Cardiff. The only downside is the parking situation. Much easier to get the train in and walk over to the hotel."

"Only downside with our visit was only 1 of the 3 lifts was working. With it being easter weekend the hotel was very busy and we had to wsit a long time for the 1 lift working "

"The room was clean and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was decent, though the menu could have had more fresh options. The bar had a reasonable selection of drinks. However, the bed was noticeably dented/sagging in the middle, which made sleeping quite uncomfortable. A new mattress or at least better support would make a big difference. Overall the property is fine, but the bed quality needs attention."

"Enjoyed a two night stay at Park Plaza. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. The gym and pool were great. Decent bar area with friendly bar staff. Recommended "

"Had difficulty in finding the hotel but locals helped. We were pleased to find a parking space below the hotel. Your female receptionist was extremely helpful and professional. We arrived around 11.15 am Monday 30th April 2026. We were very happy with the room. Spacious, clean, modern a large very comfortable bed and bathroom with a bath. We didn’t eat at the hotel purely because it was a birthday celebration so chose to eat in one of the Cardiff city restaurants. We did have a drink in the restaurant when we are back. Thank you. We enjoyed our visit to Cardiff and enjoyed our stay at the hotel. "
