"The room was roomy and clean. The only thing not good was you had to step into the bath to use the shower and there was no handle bar on the wall to hold on to. The staff was helpful in looking after our cases when we arrived before we could go into the room."

"We booked a room for 2 adults 1 child but, on checking in , discovered the room had only been made up for 2. However, Holly (the lovely lass on reception), was exceptional in getting this sorted. It really is a joy to find someone who goes the extra mile to own and sort a problem (especially when it was not one of her making)."

"A well-renovated Victorian seaside hotel. Friendly and professional receptionist meant a smooth and rapid check-in. Room 102 very clean and renovated to a good standard. Nice toiletries and plenty of clear spaces for my things. Only thing that slightly marred the experience was very unpredictable internet that disappeared fairly frequently. Didn't use the bar or restaurant as attending a birthday event nearby"

"I rang ahead as I knew I’d be late to arrive. The lady on the phone was very bubbly, polite and most of all; helpful! When I got to the hotel, the nights team were cleaning the reception area but rushed to assist me through the doors. The gentleman behind reception was very knowledgeable about local traffic and the best routes to take for my onward journey and even gave me a complimentary breakfast voucher as I didn’t know if I’d booked breakfast or if it was included or not. "Beautiful location, very relaxing and a step back into history at the same time. Only real criticism was that the bathroom windows would not close properly as they were clearly written and in need of repair. As regards Champneys, nice facility, however, clearly getting tired with plaster falling off adjacent to the sauna and the showers in need of an update. The staff were all very helpful and always on hand. "

"Stayed here for 1 night to be close to Winters Barn for a family wedding. Place was easy to find, clean and comfortable. Shower hot and large rainforest style head which i loved. Staff friendly and accommodating, i needed an extension lead to dry my hair as no plugs near the mirror and the team were accommodating. Breakfast was nice too. Would stay again. Its also a short drive to main Canterbury city center. "
