Slight problem on check in as they had given us a double room instead of a twin, despite sending an email prior to arrival requesting a twin. Staff shortages meant it was a while before the bed situation was sorted but we were in the bar by then so not really an issue. "The property is very tired and is in desperate need of modernisation. The hand basin unit was stained, the toilet pan was stained (not pleasant at all).
I was left pretty disappointed
This is supposed to be the premier hotel in Bawtry. I wont stay here again"
"Not enough room for parking unless you have a small car.Code key system for room very hit and miss.
Very nice room when you get in,clean and spacious."
"I had liver and onions for evening meal. It was over cooked as the liver was crumbling as I ate it.
The bed was uncomfortable ..mattress was cheap and the bed wobbled every time you moved keeping my wife awake as I moved in the night.
Sue, manager was brilliant , very attentive and polite."
"From start to finish it was a delightful stay, it had a lot of charm and we loved the chickens and goats the breakfast was great with all that you needed and more, the host was lovely and we enjoyed our stay, l will recommend this place to everyone at your club and we will return in the future.
Thanks Nigel & Kim"
"It is a charming place, it is dated but that adds to the charm. The hosts are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Very good value for money and a lovely location"
