They always worked so hard in every way possible to be sure that our stay was enjoyable!! "It's amazing how only two people (husband and wife - they run this place) can make you feel welcome and like you come to the house of loving friends or relatives! They greet us with the smile, showed to our rooms and offered us dinner even it was 10 pm. When was last time you had such a service!?? Can't not to mention the dinner that was cooked by husband - simply amazing! This place shows you all the best you want in hospitality. Highly recommended, we’ll be back! "

"Hotels.com booked me into a hotel that was closed for the winter! I arrived in the evening after a long journey to find everything closed but for the help of the caretaker I would have been stranded and seriously at risk. I had to find another hotel in Les Eyzies and pay 70 euros for a taxi to get there. "

"Only 2 nights spent at La Paille Basse but it was really lovely. Would happily come back here. The team running the place were really friendly, the property well looked after and the accommodation as expected."

"Un peu déçu de cet hôtel pour dire que c’est un 4 étoiles. L’accueil n’était pas très cordial, cela-dit le personnel du petit déjeuner était sympathique. La chambre était en dessous du standard, pas hyper propre, avec une odeur de moisi. La chambre n’avait aucun service: Pas de bouilloire, café etc. Même si le covid nous a été indiqué comme la raison, tous les autres hôtels de notre séjour avaient ces services donc un effort serait bienvenu.
