FAMILY HOME IN THE PERIGORD NOIR

"A beautiful home and an excellent location from which to enjoy the Dordogne and surrounding villages. The house is well-equipped and comfortable for up to 6 people. It is obviously a family home and there remain many treasures and memories of Madame Lacour's parents which add to the ambience. Beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped, showers good. The only thing I would improve was the quality of the towels so if this is an issue - bring your own. The house is well off the road so quiet and surrounded by gardens and trees. It was very hot while we were there but the house is cool and can be kept so by using shutters and windows correctly. Overall a wonderful experience and highly recommended."

"We had a fantastic family holiday , the house was perfect for all the 8 adults and 7 grandchildren . The house is in a beautiful location near all the main attractions and very close to the river . The swimming pool was used every day , the boules court ,table tennis were a great addition as were the swing, slide and see saw. The children loved feeding the nearby goats . I would definitely recommend this beautiful gite . Eve and Pascal the hosts were very helpful and very friendly."

"A stunning characterful historic building, with beautiful grounds and pool, which was perfect for our multi-generational family group, aged from 4 to 74. The decor and furnishings were gorgeous too but in no way intimidating! The six bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms were a practical joy and the ancient cool stone spiral staircase a delight in the very hot weather. In fact he thick walls and shuttered windows kept it surprisingly cool during a heatwave. We all loved having so much space inside and out, and enjoyed barbecuing (before the risk of fire prevented it) The kitchen was a little on the small side for all of us (14) but we didn't cook that much, preferring rather to 'assemble' meals and eat outside or to eat out at a couple of very good nearby restaurants.The separate laundry room was so useful and we really appreciated the provision of pool as well as bathroom towels.Our hosts couldn't have been more helpful or considerate. We'd all love to return here!"

"Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans le gîte des propriétaires. Le jardin (en partie privatisée) et la piscine sont indéniablement un plus. Le gîte est petit mais fonctionnel et on s’y sent bien . Manquerait juste un four. Autrement très bien placé , nous avons pu découvrir cette belle région ."

"Our family had a wonderful time at La Bourgarde. Christian was incredibly responsive for our questions before and during the stay. The proximity to the upper and lower village was a huge plus, but still being tucked away made us feel like we were in the countryside. The pool was amazing to retreat to in the afternoons following our daily exploration of the area and I was able to use the grill while my children swam. Really perfect."

"What a fantastic stay in Beynac! The Petite Chateau was exactly as described in the listing. It was an ideal location for our stay in the Dordogne. It was very convenient for canoeing, seeing the castles and forts, and checking out Sarlat. It was the perfect size for our family of four with two teenage boys. The air-conditioner was perfect for keeping it a cool temperature in the house for the very hot days we had. Vincent, the owner, was so responsive in our booking process and the local property managers were also excellent. If we are so lucky to ever return to this region, we would absolutely stay there again and recommend it very highly."

"Nous avons séjourné dans cette maison périgourdine du 13 au 20 mai. C'est une maison très agréable spacieuse le tout dans un écrin de verdure, nous avons apprécié le chant des oiseaux le. matin au réveil.Dommage que le beau temps n'etait pas avec nous.Si je peux me permettre il y aurait quelques éléments à intégrer dans la maison , notamment un panier à linge, un porte serviettes dans la salle de bains."
