"The room was tiny. The bed was small and not a double as advertised. Bed could only fit in the room by being pushed up against the wall so could only be accessed from one side. Bed was uncomfortable and prevented any sleep. Bathroom was so small it was not possible to sit on the toilet! Room was situated next to an outside generator or aircon unit which was loud. I don’t believe any guest should be expected to stay in this room."

I just want to point out one defect in the hope that someone at Dunston Hall will see this and take some action to prevent it happening again.
We ate at the brasserie on 3 evenings and the cooking was, with one exception, very good. The exception was on the last night when one of my hasselback potatoes turned out to be bad . The attached photo shows how black it was inside. I showed this to the waitress who said she...
"The whole hotel needs a facelift. Lift difficult to operate and had a strange smell. Shower needs 2 types of shower head, not just a waterfall with no shower hat provided. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Disappointed, expected slightly more from a four star hotel."
"Thought the location of the hotel was good, parking was easy the breakfast and food was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. parts of the room were a little tired and someone had splashed a drink over the curtains at somepoint so they could do with cleaning."

We paid for the breakfast option, there was a good variety to choode from and it was delicious

"The property it self was nice once you worked out the maze of entrances and where to find the Keys. Whilst there is parking it can be tight to navigate.
upon arrival I was accosted by what I assume was a fellow guests looking for help in checking in, as it self check in. I felt a little swarmed and uncomfortable. The room itself was nice and spacious, clean and functional. Very Warm however due to the hot weather and a lack of aircon.
