"Staff were friendly and helpful. Lift was out of order for all of our stay which was not good as I have arthritis in both knees, left hip and right shoulder. There were a lot of stairs - this spoilt the holiday slightly for me"
"Couldn’t recommend The Tenpus at Charlton Hall more! We stayed in one of the lakeside lodges and had such a lovely relaxing time. We had planned to eat at the Lobster Pot in Bamburgh but lucky for us they were a chef down and couldn’t accommodate us so we ate in the Tempus restaurant which was outstanding.
I didn’t catch our servers name but he was so friendly and made us very welcome. Food was delicious.
Can’t wait to book again… absolutely loved everything about our visit."
"The hotel is conveniently located with amazing views of the castle and the surrounding grounds, including the fields where the sheep graze. I stayed the first night in the room with the terrace, which I recommend. It is perfect for laying on the couch outside after dark to do some serious stargazing. The second night I stayed in apartment 27. There were stairs to climb to get to the apartment, but it was worth it. The apartment was lovely and clean and large (2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and...
"Fantastic 2 night stay in the family room with our 20 month old daughter. Friendly staff, convenient parking, lovely food and drinks, and a delicious breakfast. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend and return!"
"Room lovely with sea view
Staff brilliant in accommodating our particular needs: help with bags and special dietary needs for Rose...
Check in was early.
Just perfect."
"I stayed in the dog friendly room which was ok but not great. The carpets were stained and when we first walked in the room we could smell dog it wasn't a fresh smell. There was a half used toilet roll in our bathroom and no fan so it steamed up quite quickly. The room was at the bottom of the beer garden so was very noisy which wasn't that much of a problem.
We ordered food it was very fast and efficient, large portions and reasonably priced. The sun was in the beer garden all day. Staff very...
"Did not appreciate a separate bathroom from our bedroom. We booked 12 months in advance and I am sure that I would not have booked if I had noticed that. Our room was situated at the top of the stairs which meant other guests walking past possibly as you were heading to have or return from a shower. Our room could also be seen from a public area (a small corridor from the main bar to the beer garden) which is not good especially for a woman.
The hosts went out of their way to find us...
"Brilliant host and staff, food quality and portions amazing. Clean and comfortable. Relaxed atmosphere. Could do with an update. Would definitely recommend to others and return. "
"Perfect location with all of the local facilities nearby. Property was well equipped & maintained to a very high standard.
Our host, David was very attentive, nothing was too much trouble for him.
We will definitely be returning."
