"The location is excellent. The hotel is generally nice but if you look closely is a bit grubby in places -skirtings, behind the doors and daily room service. The shower was over a bath and it was very deep which made it difficult to get in and out. There was an aircon unit which was so noisy it couldn't be used. Breakfast was good and overall we had a good stay."

"We had a lovely weekend stay at this hotel, which is only a 10 minute walk from the city centre and close to York’s many attractions. Our air conditioned room was very clean, with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, dressing table, hairdryer, iron, tv and plenty of power sockets. The en-suite had a spacious walk-in shower and toiletries were included. We used the hotel restaurant in the evenings and our meals were both well presented and delicious. "Large older style hotel in a convenient location. Bright welcoming reception and bar and spacious dining area. Room was good; comfortable bed, tv and tea and coffee. Good shower but it was leaking from the shower control end out of the shower on to the bathroom floor and out of the bathroom and wetting the carpet in the bedroom by the bathroom door. Also it didn’t seem that the extractor fan in the bathroom was working well / at all. We reported both of these faults and hopefully they will be...
