"Great location in Edinburgh centre. Staff were super nice and helpful. Building a bit quirky with cool decor and lots of twisty corridors. We liked breakfast - not the most extensive continental but what there was was excellent plus we had booked breakfast in advance so got eggs Benedict anyway (with eggs poached perfectly). Only mark off is for the room - very cute but very small so it was difficult to navigate around the bed and the TV at the end of the bed acted like a room partitian. But you will have had worse bigger rooms in city centre hotels. Bed was comfy and the bathroom was done up nice so it was still a good experience."

"The staff went above and beyond!!! The room was very clean. We ordered a burger one night, another night the charcuterie board..EXCELLENT!!! Both recommended by the staff. Then our bartender made us fabulous drinks to include a stamped 1816 cube for my whiskey. Beautiful craftsmanship in his drinks. We have stayed in 6 hotels in Scotland, this was by far the best 4 day stay thus far!!! Thank you Apex staff for everything!!! Ohhh and Location, just outside is multiple bus routes and the train terminal is a block away."

"The property was nothing like the pictures.When I checked in they made me pay additional hundred dollar deposit on top of my already paid for room nights. Very deceiving. The room they tried to give me was on the third floor and had a winding staircase very steep and no elevator. I have a heart condition. They stuck me on the second floor in a room that had rats. They said they would call the pest control guy. I never saw one. The next room had a mattress that was sacky and worn and very uncomfirtable. It was a terrible experience."

"Clean room, comfy beds, safe location within walking distance to most major sites and restaurants. My 3 daughters and I just used our room as a place to sleep and shower, as we were in the city most of the day. No one-site parking. We used the Omni parking garage and walked uphill to our hotel. Breakfast buffet was worth the price paid for it. We would recommend this hotel for any family staying in Edinburgh."

"I would not recommend this. There is no proper management of queue at the reception - there are 3 random separate lines and people were jumping queues. The staff did not show any intention to manage that. Room cleanliness is alright but everything is out of date. The bath door is constantly stuck. I stayed two nights in two separate rooms (as I went to highlands in-between). First night I was given a room directly facing the garbage areas with trolley. The second night I was given a room directly facing the car park - there was a car parking right in front of my window (I wasn’t sure if it’s a private parking area or it was actually facing a street), and I also saw some garbage trolleys. I couldn’t have the blinds open on both nights, which were unfortunate. I would not recommend to anyone. Please consider another hotel with the price you pay."
