"The Douglas Fir is conveniently located near public transportation, which made getting around Banff easy. However, the property itself needs significant updating. "We stayed overnight because of a rescheduled flight. Staff were wonderful and the hotel was amazing. Unfortunately the check in didn’t go smoothly since neither my two credit cards or my wife’s two credit cards were accepted by their system showing “ declined “. After a 20-30 minute delay and retrying they worked which seems indicative of a temporary system failure. This was frustrating after a lengthy flight from Europe.
