"Booked to be as close to the train station as possible and it is actually the nearest, just across the road from the station and nearest to the cruise terminal as well (app 25 minute walk or a taxi app £10) - I was meeting my daughter for her birthday, she works on the ships, so it was an ideal spot. Walking distance to the centre of Southampton too. Staff were really nice, loved having the pool, sauna and gym included. All in all great value."

"The venue was nice but felt a little tired. The window in the room we had did not shut properly as it was broken. The table in the room was sticky and dusty. The lift had a very poor paint job. The bar had a limited choice of drinks However the staff were friendly and the food at breakfast was good. Unfortunately there was a lack of small plates on the 1st morning and on the 2nd morning although there was a pile of plates in was actually a mixture of plates and saucers. It felt as if the place...

"We had a lovely stay here. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the cricket pitch which my partner thought was fab as he could sit and enjoy the days match. I visited the spa which was very nice although a little pricey."

"Very good location to stay near the town center and a short drive away from Stonehenge! The only thing I wish was improved was the plumbing at the guestroom toilets. There was no sufficient water flow and you need to flush 10 times. Shower and sink worked great, though."

"My wife and I were staying for a rare weekend away, for a friend's wedding. When we arrived the car park was as good as full, but we managed to squeeze in (during our visit we arrived to no spaces in the car park, so it is definitely pot luck as to whether or not you will be able to park). We got to our room and found dirty / ripped cushions on the bed, marks (possibly coffee stains) on the wall and ceiling (bizarrely), dirty marks in the plug hole of the shower, and a brown mark on the wall to...

"Been coming here for a few years as its such a good location and generally nice hotel. Made the mistake of booking a ground floor room, was lovely having access to the gardens with patio doors but not so much being kept awake by the people in the room above us... literally every conversation, footstep and bedroom gymnastics. The staff were great 10/10. The location is quiet and lovely by the river. Very convenient for walking into town and lots of parking."

"We ha e never seen such a clean hktel bathroom! Rhe room was spotless and the beds were oerfect for our needs. The breakfast crockery could have been cleaner. The family area stank of Pot and the fire alarm went off as someone burnt a croissant in the toaster. Other than that the hotel and the servjce were excellent. All the staff were well trained and very polite, courteous and helpful. "

"Our stay was amazing. The room was spacious, quaint and felt like we had gone back in time. The building was 800 years old, so the floors and stairs were uneven, but it only added to the charm. We loved it! The bathrooms were modernized and spotless. Breakfast was cooked to order along with a buffet. It was delicious. The staff was delightful. They couldn't have been any better. The location was close to the cathedral and about a 20 minute walk to the train station. "
