"It was an Anniversary break, and this was specifically referenced in the booking ..... but it was not acknowledged in anyway when we arrived at the hotel, which for a Hilton hotel is very rare. The hotel was very noisey, as they were getting ready for a concert, which was not mentioned when booking. We have stayed at the hotel many, many times .... but this stay was distinctly average."

"Sited by the river ouse, lovely view over the town bridge. Only comment regarding bathroom facilities,the design has placed the toilet roll holder next to the door leaving very little room to use toilet. "

"Hotel is really nice and good location by the riverside. Retains a lot of character. Good value. Room is nice and spacious and restaurant is good. Negatives: car park is too small and we couldn't park onsite on check-in (also not free). Also out hotel room was not ready on arrival and this affected our plans for the day and could only check in late at night. Finally the spa is not included in your room price which is a shame - would rather pay a bit more to have this included in the cost. Also...

"We stayed for one night in a club room which was very spacious clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the generous freebies too. I was a member of the leisure club since the hotel opened but I haven’t been back for ten years. I did feel not a lot had changed. The decor is dated now but still clean and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable. The pool facilities are still really lovely, even though I can see in places an update is needed. I would definitely stay again in this busy hotel...

"A delightful hotel with friendly, professional and efficient staff. The breakfast is self service and very varied with continental or English. The rooms are spacious, clean and have tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a bar in the hotel that leads out to beautiful gardens. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the train station where you can get services to London, High Wycombe and Oxford. Highly recommended. "

"On arrival staff were very welcoming, I think the payment of £10 for parking overnight for guests is outrageous. I have been staying at this hotel on and off since 1992 and have never paid for parking before, this should be free for guest staying overnight and others not staying should pay. This will certainly effect my decision to use the hotel again, the mattress was very soft and not good for anyone's back. The breakfast was good. "
