"Great stay many thanks. Nice property but please keep it refurbed and up to date. Needs aircon for the summer, fans good but too hot as windows cannot be fully opened. Great service in the bar/restaurant but needs Guinness back rather than Caffreys Stout! Will miss the lamb skewers from new menu but the new sticky chicken ones are also good. That said a tad less bbq sauce would be ideal."

"Very basic breakfast and the coffee was awful!! There was a lot of building work going on and the gym/pool area was a building site. Pool was very run down which was a shame as that was a large part of the reason I chose that hotel."

"Parked at the Novotel around the corner, yourparkingspace app was just under £12 for 24 hours. Body wash in the shower was empty, reception said they'd sort it. Minor niggle, but very nice well located hotel with very good spa facilities and friendly staff."

"The breakfast could have been more extensive"

"The pictures of the hotel are accurate but also slightly deceptive - the hotel is located within a uni campus and has university halls either side of it. I expected a more private location than to be amongst students. The rooms were clean and looked accurate to the photos, however I would say we were lucky as we got the corner room which seemed slightly larger than the others. The breakfast was fine but there were some issues like that the bread was stale and the coffee was machine only....

"No lift to suites. (3 floors) honestly I was disappointed for the money spend. Chips off the sink in the Hellaby suite and lots of small things missing."

"All was great but follow up after booking to confirm all on your booking needswas correct."

"Sadly, a disappointing stay in a hotel that has the potential to be beautiful but is dated and poorly maintained. We did not receive the suite we specifically booked for its layout. The first room we were given was accessed through a pitch-black courtyard, which felt unsafe. Although the bedroom and bathroom were modern, the living area was echoey, with a flimsy falling apart table and a fold-out bed positioned in a room near the external door. This was unsuitable for our two young...

"Used this place for business. Was close to work and affordable. The room was clean and had a fridge for my medication which is always a bonus. the staff in the restaurant and bar were great. Although it was a buffet breakfast, the food was still fresh and had not been cremated under the hot lights."

"We stayed in a four poster bedroom in late October 26. The hotel is a fascinating place (in a good way). Steeped in history but extremely well maintained. The bedroom was superb, luxurious and super clean with a very comfortable bed. We had both evening meal and breakfast at the hotel. Both were exceptional and decent value too. The staff were all professional, polite and friendly. Only minor gripe is the parking. The hotel parking itself is small and tight. Plus you will need to be there...

"Room was clean and comfortable, although there was nowhere to hang coats/clothes (there was no hanging rail). The pedestrian route to the restaurant was a bit dark in places. Generally a good overall stay."

"Incredibly friendly and helpful staff at front desk! Thank you"

"Good facilities and the staff were all polite and helpful."

"Cute lodge with friendly staff! Short walk to Sherwood Forest."
