"Booked it through Expedia that said parking available. When arrived they said they had limited spaces and should have pre-booked a space. That option wasn't available. I ended up parking half a mile away and paying a total.of £75 for it! I could have used that for a better hotel width parking spaces."

Just a shame about having to pay £7 a day for hotel private parking and it’s not even in the town centre it’s about a 12 minute ride on the bus to the town centre

"Hotel was very basic for a Holiday Inn. Restaurant seemed to be breakfast only and bar didn't ever look open. (Maybe the receptionist doubles as bar staff, I don't know.) There is only one lift so queues form. There was a mountain of pigeon poop on the outside window sill of my room, which was a bit gross. Inside was clean and location was fine, but I'm sure there are much better places in York at a similar price and location."

"One night stay at this busy hotel. We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant and were suprised how busy it was. A word of advice - if your room overlooks the rear of the hotel you can expect to hear loud noise from the kirchen extractor unit which runs from 7am to 10pm and if you're tired and want to slepp or have children beware"
"We booked a room for ourselves and our 17 year old daughter. There was no bed made up for her, no towels for her. No air con and to cool down the windows needed to remain open, making the room noisy from the street. Overall it looked like it needed an update on the inside. Very helpful, friendly staff and the location was very good."

"Room was clean and tidy, we were upgraded which was lovely. We had a river view but because of the trees, the view wasn’t as good as we hoped. However, we weren’t there to look at the view for long!
Kitchen area had everything if needed, aircon was great for the heat and bathroom was good. Only downside, wardrobe was tiny and no drawers to unpack much!
Hotel is ideally situated for walking into York. Just a short walk and you are in the main area.
Coffee/tea in the reception all day long...
