"We spent 3 nights at this hotel. Communication with the hotel prior to our arrival was easy with prompt responses. Front desk staff were always available, knowledgeable and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. The mattress on our bed was a little soft, so our room cleaner got an extra layer to put on the mattress which helped.
We had 2 breakfasts at the hotel - there were 2 options: full buffet breakfast for one price or limited breakfast with charges of 3 Euros per item.
We did not...
"Chambre très propre et petit-déjeuner était excellent. J’ai particulierement apprécié les 3 sortes de jus frais pressés et la machine permettant de se faire soi-même les oeufs à la coq. Idéalement situé dans le centre permettant de visiter le quartier historique.
Le parking à quelques pas est suffisamment spacieux et est très propre"
"I think your stay at The Set hotel will be great if you set your expectations right:
1. The place is essentially a country club, with the hotel kinda feeling like an afterthought.
2. The layout of the place is a problem. The rooms are in a separate building to the lobby, with no signage anywhere. Simple signage with arrows doesn’t seem like a big ask. It took us a solid two days to catch our bearings we just couldn’t figure it out, and I have a very good sense of orientation.
3. When you call...
"Room is clean but smelled like vinegar when we go in. Had to air it out. The AC doesn’t go very low so gets warm at night. The shower set up was interesting because there’s nothing keeping water from splashing. Pool is nice. The hotel is outside of the old town but walkable to the center so it was nice."
"Location is ok- about 10 min walk to the old town Aix (pedestrian only area and hard to get with a car) on a quiet residential street.
There is plenty of street parking around the hotel, very reasonably priced if you leave for most part of the day. We would drive to our day trips at 8 am and come back at 5-6pm. No need to pay for parking after 7pm until 8 am and on weekends. Hotel never tells you that- they have 12 Euro per day parking
Breakfast was typical- selection of eggs, pancakes, fruit,...
"Nice hotel 20 min away by bus or taxi from Center Ville of Aix-en-Provence. It has a nice lobby bar and they offer breakfast. Rooms are renovated and nice sized. It has a nice pool."
"Très agréable séjour dans cet hôtel calme et reposant, avec une belle piscine. La chambre était spacieuse, lumineuse et confortable. Seul petit bémol : le petit-déjeuner pourrait proposer des jus de fruits frais et des box à emporter pour les clients qui partent tôt le matin. Une très bonne expérience dans l’ensemble, que je recommande volontiers."
"Room was spartan and amenities basically non existent. Staff was always busy chatting with each other. Breakfast servers, food and atmosphere of restaurant were great. Location superb."
"Bastide de Lourmarin was one of the best hotels we had stayed in during our entire Provence roadtrip in France. Besides the wonderful location, very helpful staff and the quality of breakfast (both food and environment) we were fascinated by internal design of hotel room. Without any doubt rooms in this hotel match the quality and amenities of a 5 star hotel rooms. We would be glad recommending Bastide de Lourmarin hotel to all our traveling clients."
