"This hotel turned out to be quite deceiving. From the outside it looked grand when you walk up to it, but in reality it was tired with a 70s/80s building on the side which is where we stayed. Branded as a spa hotel, the spa side was tiny, old and very dated. The pool was very small, the jacuzzi wasnt working and empty. The sauna was tiny, with a door that was hanging off the hinges and had scraped the floor. In the changing room, very few of the lockers worked. The room we had was very small...

The grounds were immaculately kept and the surrounding land was a picture of pastoral beauty. The pool and sauna were relaxing and we had them all to ourselves. "A good hotel but some things are not immediately obvious from the property description. The hotel is on a university campus, surrounded by University accommodation. Breakfast is not provided in the hotel itself but in a university cafeteria across the road, but most significantly this may not be open over a weekend, so if you book on a weekend all you may get may be a grab and go breakfast bag. As long as you are aware of this when booking you should be OK as no real criticism of the hotel...
