"Showed up and our was given to another person who had the AC go out in their room. Hotel was booked for a large event so we had to take the room with no AC. Asked for compensation but they couldn’t do it because we booked through a 3rd party. They offered is 2 small bags of saltwater taffy and 2 free drinks."

"I love Hotel SLO and have stayed there several times. It’s a beautiful property, in the middle of downtown, with ridiculously comfortable beds and an excellent staff. Unfortunately, the last couple times I’ve stayed there have been some maintenance issues in the rooms that have not been addressed. The door to our bathroom was very difficult to slide and all in all everything in the bathroom was loose, tired, and needed attention. It feels like Hotel SLO is riding on its laurels and not working...

"-dirty fridge -ear ring and plastic wrapper on the floor in our room -broken bed part stored under our bed and there was a lotion bottle as well -really cute idea with the binoculars provided in the room to see the constellations but wasn’t usable as the view of our room was a building right in front of our window (it wasn’t booked as ocean view so totally fair but for more than $800/night it is still not great) -there was mention of some work on updating the pool area (we didn’t expect so much...

"Exceptional location in Avila Beach with easy access to Alapay tasting room, Peloton tasting room and Avila Wine and Roasting tastings. The property itself is very hospitable with a common room set up to accommodate morning croissants and coffee, afternoon chips and salsa, a wine-centered happy hour in the late afternoon and pie and/or cookies at 8pm. It is much more geared towards older adults and we very much appreciated that maturity, quiet, and slower-paced energy."

"The breakfast was perhaps the best that I have ever had, not just a fried egg. spectacular fried egg. The only comment I would make is that the mirror above the sink is set up for someone 5'3", not anyone around 6'. Otherwise the place has old world charm only a block from the downtown."

"The loft itself was beautiful, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, the nightclub located downstairs in the building operates until 2:00 AM, and the noise level made it extremely difficult to sleep. It honestly felt as though we were inside the party until it ended. Zero sleep was had. "
