"Grand is a very apt name for the hotel, all areas immaculate with spacious high cieling rooms and attentive staff. The only area lacking was breakfast, my Hash Brown benedict had very dried bacon, overcooked egg and you could tell the sauce had been left exposed on the hot plate too long. I'd therefore give 9.5/10 overall. "

"The Hyatt is our preferred hotel in Birmingham. For us the location is excellent. The staff are mostly helpful. It went through a bad stage a while ago but has vastly improved recently. Room size is good. The bathrooms are a little dated. The view from the rooms is superb and we always pay more for a room on a high floor. The breakfast has long been excellent. "Arrived late so can’t really give a fair review however, the room was nice and comfortable (quirky with a mezzanine balcony and the bedroom and bathroom on the upper split level). Only criticism would be there was only one remote for the tv and when I was up it was down and vice versa, also the taxi cab driver complained he had no where to wait for me in the AM and was extremely rude. Other than that it appeared to be a really nice hotel. "

Only improvement would be bath mat in bath as slippery getting in, and floor tiles around swimming pool needs to be kept dryer as also very slippery under foot"

"Lovely overnight stay in a clean and stylish room with a comfortable firm bed. Was able to sleep well despite being right near a busy main road, good soundproofing. Breakfast was a delicious and extensive buffet style with a nice range of options. The whole atmosphere was calm and trendy, with a convenient location for our stay. There were a few little odd issues like some lift buttons being damaged and TV being a bit temperamental. Could do with a little TLC in that respect but it didn't stop...

"Parking was underground, which was great as it was chucking it down! Straight out of the car into lift up to reception, very friendly and smiley staff greeted us. Check in was super quick and off we went to our room. Room was great, twin room with plenty of space, clean and tidy with little delights of posh coffee and bottled water. Shower was awesome very powerful loved it. We popped up to the roof top bar and restaurant, just for cocktails which where delicious. Amazing place, great views over...

"The area locally while being subject to works because of HS2, was filled with undesirable characters at night, and so walking back late evening was not a nice experience. "

"Rooms are comfy, beds are big enough for a good nights sleep. The furniture is a little dated although they are going through an upgrade. Service in bar area was slow, there was only 1 working running 2 areas it was ok when quiet but when people started coming in it could have been up to twenty minutes waiting for a drink. Food was ok if needed a quick bite. Staff friendly and happy to help, if I was in area again I would consider staying again "
