"We have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 8 to 10 years. While it remains a very nice property with polite, helpful staff, we have noticed a gradual decline in certain areas.
The evening meals are now very expensive—for instance, a double espresso made from the exact same machine used at breakfast costs £9.90 (September 2026 price). Furthermore, the breakfast quality has slowly but steadily deteriorated compared to six or seven years ago. While we will likely return because of the...
"The accommodation is a small studio flat which was well furnished and comfortable. Unfortunately, when the windows opened the road noise is too great to leave open and the room very warm so for me, not comfortable due to being too hot and poor quality sleep. There is a fan but only blowing around warm air so not great. Breakfast was okay but some food not that fresh, some of the rolls were from the previous day and a bit hard and some food put out for the 6am opening and still there an hour or...
"This hotel is not worth the money. The toilet seat was hanging off. The shower door was broken the toilet brush and holder were all rusty. In the morning we waited an hour for our breakfast people that arrived in the restaurant after us got there breakfast before us when we checked with staff they said ours was coming after an hours wait we left the restaurant and checked out with no breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel"
"Just stayed here last week very easy to find plenty parking. Check in straight forward the young man very friendly. Some minor faults with rooms. We had 2 rooms . Both kettles in rooms had bad limescale so never used them .the teabags looked like they had just been thrown in a pile on the dresser Bathroom towel instead of being white had a massive blue stain on .bed sheet was dirty. .you could hear the traffic outside but to be expected as on main road. I think for value for money...
"Staff are great, rooms are lovely - there was a fan in the room but could do with air conditioning given the weather and heat we seem to be having nowadays. Otherwise, no complaints"
"Fantastic place to stay and lovely and clean. Had a problem opening the door and they send a person down to assist me quickly. Lovely place to stay and perfect hot tub too"
"Upon arrival the staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was clean and tidy, not too hot (which is unusual for a hotel room).
Breakfast was good - full English. Once again the staff were excellent (wish I had taken names so I could mention them) & friendly.
Would we go back? A resounding yes."
"This property is described as “Luxury” on Expedia. I’m not sure who came up with that description, but it is very much at the other end of the luxury scale.
Granted, the building is old, but having read the description, we were looking forward to a high-spec, luxury boutique B&B with parking. Unfortunately, the reality was a world away from the impressive sales pitch.
The parking is not private, as implied by the Expedia description, but public parking in the nearby square. According to a...
