"Great room. Spacious enough for family of 4. Bathroom was ok, but extractor fan wasn’t working which meant damp is setting in but early stages. Staff were amazing and friendly. Area is has a lovely massive green space. Parking is 15 minutes to drop off. You have to be very quick we you will get ticket. I think this should be extended to 30 mins as larger families found it difficult to get crying kids out after long drive etc. closest parking is the open car park inside the University grounds....

"I had to have an overnight stay due to missed flight & this hotel was not far from the airport. It is extremely clean & the room was large & spotless. Unfortunately I arrived after 23:00 & the restaraunt was closed & no other places nearby to get food. Also it seems that my room was above the gym as the sounds of heavy weights being dropped could be heard until midnight."

"Nice place, let down by housekeeping in the Manor House, trays with leftovers on the stair case from check in to the following morning, glasses left on staircase and tables. Coffee machine would not work as needed a deep clean. Food was perfect and staff excellent in the bar area. "

"Electric charging stations. We were travelling down to Southampton to embark on our cruise ship for one week. I chose to stay at the Solent Hotel so that I could charge my car ready for the journey home after our cruise. The hotel and facilities were fabulous I will definitely stay there again."

"I liked the situation of the hotel and the quality of the room which had a large comfortable bed. The bathroom was exceptionally clean, none of the black mould normally seen. There was also the option of a bath or a powerful shower. My only complaint is that the cooked breakfast was disappointing. A lot of choice, but most components had obviously been prepared hours earlier and were only luke warm, hence only a four star overall rating, because I like a good cooked breakfast!"
