"Our booking was made in February 2026 and we arrived to find we were not staying in the hotel but in an adjacent building 100 yards away which housed apartments. The weekend was to celebrate my 80th birthday and luckily I am sufficiently agile to overcome the steps getting into the apartment. It could possibly have been more convenient and cheaper to have booked a nearby travel lodge."

It was a small room which was to be expected Strangely there was a step up to the bathroom and this had a glow in the dark sign that was annoying at night A few little bits that could have been better. No plug near the desk to make tea had to use bedside table, door stop needed repairing in bathroom. But all minor. The spa was a nice addition. Nice location in Harrogate."

"Great location, within walking distance of city centre. Lots of safe, secure parking, if a little expensive at £20 per day. Fantastic room with very high ceiling and roll top bath. Very comfortable bed. Good breakfast with plenty of choices. It’s an expensive hotel, but overall good value for money."

"We enjoyed our visit and the staff were friendly and helpful but the rooms could have been cleaner. The building is old and it shows. Lots of toothpaste splatter on the wall next to sink, dirty paint, worn out carpet and you can hear noise from hallway. We had a great time and location was perfect."

"The location is excellent. The hotel is generally nice but if you look closely is a bit grubby in places -skirtings, behind the doors and daily room service. The shower was over a bath and it was very deep which made it difficult to get in and out. There was an aircon unit which was so noisy it couldn't be used. Breakfast was good and overall we had a good stay."

"We had a lovely weekend stay at this hotel, which is only a 10 minute walk from the city centre and close to York’s many attractions. Our air conditioned room was very clean, with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, dressing table, hairdryer, iron, tv and plenty of power sockets. The en-suite had a spacious walk-in shower and toiletries were included. We used the hotel restaurant in the evenings and our meals were both well presented and delicious. Good shower but it was leaking from the shower control end out of the shower on to the bathroom floor and out of the bathroom and wetting the carpet in the bedroom by the bathroom door. "Firstly what a prefect hotel for discovering York, only 5 minutes walk to town, the hotel is well maintained and the tapas menu and presentation is excellent, you would struggle to find standard higher to be honest!
