"This is the third time we have stayed at the black bear lodge in Stratton and every time we stay our experience is the same.. excellent. The staff are all so nice and accommodating, the property is clean and the breakfast is perfect. The rooms are comfortable and clean, it really is the perfect place to stay in Vermont. "This was such a great find! First time staying at a ski resort and it was perfect! Really enjoyed the ski in / ski out. We had beautiful views from our room complete with balcony overlooking the slopes! Loved the heated outdoor pool and hot tubs. Fire pits outside were also nice to have. Very cozy atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly and helpful at the hotel."

With over 200 years house, this was not welcomed especially after a tiring long ski day. "We loved our accommodations- Cider House 1- and were ideally situated to access both the restaurant and the grounds of the estate. I especially enjoyed the double vanities, separate tub and shower, and toilet in its own room. Very unique and practical, at the same time! "It was our first time in the castle itself, usually we stay in the lower hotel but the rates were comparable to the least expensive so I booked one night in the “castle”. The only complaint we really had was the heater in the room was controlled from a thermostat that was down the hall and was for the entire building so our room was either cold or way too hot even with the windows open in late April.
