"Absolutely lovely hotel! I definitely would stay again. It’s clean, the rooms are simple but colorful and comfortable. And the views! The view of lake Atitlan and the volcanoes is stunning. The boat dock is at the hotel’s doorstep making getting around the area easy. "

"Property could use some upgrades but overall it is in good condition. They should upgrade all pool furniture & keep pool area cleaner, plus play better tunes. The staff is very friendly… they do play the same playlist over and over again by the pool and that’s quite annoying. Music is loud & on by 9am. The room was kept clean by staff, and I had some good roommates. I stayed with 3 other girls. The food is very GOOD! There’s also free food in the communal kitchen left by other guests. No one...

"Privileged location to enjoy stunning views. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Prepare to negotiate plenty of stair. If driving, going up to the parking area can be challenging."

"El Picnic was absolutely incredible! Waking up to views of lake atitlan was a highlight of our trip. The service, food, and property were great. The town is not as great, it wasn’t a town at the top of my list to explore while in the area, but visiting El Picnic for a night was an unforgettable experience and definitely a highlight of our visit to the lake overall. "

"Lovely gardens, clean, good housekeeping. I paid for a room with a kitchen. Refrigerator?? Didn’t work. Stovetop? Didn’t work. Hot plate? Didn’t work. No oven. Microwave?? I dunno. Don’t use microwaves. Office staff put forth zero effort at check-in and thereafter. A poor experience all around. Do not recommend. "
