"Staff were great. Rooms clean and well maintained. Good selection at breakfast. Limited sun loungers around roof top pool so get there early. Traffic noise at front of hotel was an issue with taxi's dropping off during the night. Maybe ask for room at rear of hotel."

"Lovely hotel. We asked for a room away from traffic noise and were given a 4th floor room at rear of hotel. Not that noise would have been a problem as the hotel does not front onto a busy road as we thought it did. Breakfast was very good, service was excellent, short walk to river, short drive to beach, impressive individual styling on landing of each floor, comfy room with very firm mattress although softer pillows would have been better. Very good value. "

"We had a great 3 night stay at Guest Mar. The staff were super friendly and helpful - the breakfast was delicious and it was very handy to be able to use the kitchen throughout the day. Comfortable bed and a good shower. Space was a bit tight in our room, but it was workable. We made use of the shared spaces - rooftop, kitchen and reading room. All in all a lovely guesthouse."

"Great property that was well cared for and close to everything. Staff was wonderful. This was just a studio so nothing for long long term but had all the amenities you would need in the kitchen. The bed was really hard but we asked Staff for a mattress pad and they had one on the next morning. We were so grateful. Enjoyed our stay here and would come back."

"A beautiful boutique hotel in a perfect location close to the old city center and the harbor. The staff are top notch with Marcus, the manager, very helpful and knowledgeable about what to do. Breakfast was possibly the best we've had in any hotel so far in our 4 weeks of travel and the morning staff at breakfast could not have been nicer. I would not hesitate to return "

"I will say that arriving to the location was challenging with a car. The receptionist was too fast with directions to get our rental safely parked (nearby grocery store overnight). I realize she's been at the job awhile so it may seem quite simple for her. We did appreciate the apartment but the entry door, 3 flights up, is literally at the commune kitchen. Busy area with guests! The view on top terrace was the best asset."

"Really enjoyed our stay in this traditional little guest house right in the centre of the lovely border town of Vila Real de S. Antonio. Only 5 minutes on foot to the Spanish ferry, 20 mins from the train station and in a quiet street just off the bustling main square. The building is in the old town so not luxurious but it’s been beautifully maintained and has a restful ambiance - felt at home right away. The small room was impeccably clean, tastefully decorated & even had a good range of TV...

"It never happened. They never confirmed about the availability of a travel cot or check in times so I was forced to book something else. However they still took the payment. Thieves I'm afraid. Avoid at all costs"

"Nice place, basis breakfast, but enough to start your day off. Yoghurt, bread, jam and marmalade , cheese and ham. Tea Coffee and Orange juice. Swimming pool in the garden. Easy and free parking outside on the quiet road. Only close to one cafe bar restaurant. Suitable for drinks and snacks. Had to drive to find other places, but only 2 to 3 km."

"Great hotel and very friendly staff. The outside pool is cold. Reception staff went above and beyond. We arrived at 1 in the morning and still got checked in after calling the out of hours number. Check in only took 5 mins. Walking distance to the beach although there are no pavements so you need to walk on the road. "
