"Lovely hotel. In a fantastic location right by the entrance of Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Worth paying the extra for a room at the back looking out over the Maned Wolves and Lar Gibbons. We loved watching the animals from our room. Beds were comfy, shower was great and the toiletries smelt lovely.

Food great staff fantastic however could do with some talc with decor and put you up bed only suitable to hold 2year old.

"The Superior Double Garden View room was not as good as expected. The shower and toilet roof had paint peeling from it and the sink had a lot of fine cracks. The patio area table could have done with a new top as we had to put a plastic bag on it when having our snacks and a glass of wine and the paving slabs good have done with a clean. Fortunately the weather was good and enjoyed visiting the Cathedral, Castle, Museum and the good Restaurants in that area."
"First time in a standard room as we normally book one of the hot tub rooms. Very comfortable stay. Was a little noisy with some of the guests making noise way after midnight and running up and down the corridors but other than that an enjoyable stay."

"Despite the large rooms, the hotel is in dire need of a renovation.
The beds are overdue to be replaced. Lots of piling on them and they didn’t have a fitted sheet. You could feel the bumps of the older mattress through the sheet that was on top of the bed. The sheet on top of the bed didn’t cover the entire mattress. It would roll up and expose the mattress in the night. I had to constantly get out of bed and pull it back over the bare worn mattress.

"Location was a plus since you don’t have to deal with congested traffic in the city. Free parking an obvious plus. Food was decent. Staff and service very good. The only real negative was one of hygiene. It was noticeable that when customers used the toilet facilities and failed to wash their hands, they would return to the restaurant and handle the utensils stacked in the containers on the table. In future, I would take wipes and clean before using."
"The room opens directly onto the carpark, which was great as it made it easy to unload/load the car, also we could keep the door open so cool down the room (it was hot when we stayed). The staff were friendly and helpfully. Each nigh we were asked to prebook our breakfast, stating what time we wanted it, the following morning the breakfast was waiting for us perfectly cooked."

"The room wasn’t clean, the headboard on the bed was worn and ripped, underneath the bed was filthy and full of hairs, a previous guests glasses were left in the room, a small used soap bar used unhygienic and not enough for 2 guests, other items were also not replenished, despite having a previous stay at this hotel which was good this one did not live up to the previous standard and the member of staff on reception was also quite rude"
