"The front lobby and dining areas are well-maintained and inviting. They have a restaurant onsite with a decent selection of items and good operating hours. The hotel room & hallway outside the room intermittently smelled of sewage which detracted from the experience, however. The staff was gracious and we were grateful to secure a room when our flight was cancelled."

"Marriott Courtyard Downtown Halifax is, as named, in downtown Halifax. It’s in a great location, close to the Citadel and harbor. Good restaurants nearby and you can buy a quick breakfast at the bistro downstairs."

"We stayed for four nights with friends. We were lucky enough to have a rear fronted room with a lovely view of the courtyard. Staff were very accommodating. The rooms were quaint with lovely decor. The bathroom was a little small with limited shelving. We enjoyed the $15 for 5 items on the breakfast menu. The location was perfect. Easy walking to the water front with lots of places to eat nearby. Free parking onsite."

"The rooms were good and spacious - a little dated. No slippers or robes provided. towels are not fluffy. We had a room on the 2nd floor facing the street and the street lights are super bright. Breakfast was adequate and not late enough - weekends till 10am and weekdays till 930am. Should be later. Suite have everything you need. Did not use gym. At least 5 blocks up from the Waterfront area. Lots of restaurants and bars and entertainment around."

We stayed in the Sunrise suite and were surprised at JUST how how open the door plan was - there was no partition whatsoever between bedroom and bathroom, and had a full view of toilet and shower from our bed. This would be a lovely room for a single person, but an awkward setup for two people, as there was no privacy for bathroom use.
