"Everything was completely as expected. It’s kind of a no frills lodging more like an apartment complex than a village. But clean, warm, quiet, and comfortable. There are a few places to eat nearby, but mostly you’ll need to take the bus. If you buy a lift pass from the resort, you can use it on the bus but be sure not to use it the night before you plan to use it for skiing or that will void it for the next day. Wait until the morning of ski day to buy your pass to avoid that. Buses stop running...

"A bit outside of the center of Grand Hirafu village but easily walkable. You have to go uphill a bit to get to the resort. The property itself is beautiful. Ideal for 6 or 7 guests (3 couples). Full kitchen but without salt/oil/spices so brine no your own if you plan to cook. Tsubara Tsubara right next door if you want amazing Japanese curry. Staff drive us back to the Chitose bus pickup on checkout. Would stay again if traveling with a small group. "

"The Gondola Chalet was the perfect place for my group snowboarding at Grand Hirafu. Easy to find and check in. The chalets are walking distance to the King Gondola. So easy to get to the mountain first thing in the morning. The chalets have a great view, lots of room, very clean and everything you’ll need in the kitchen. We cooked at the chalet twice and walked to dinner nearby at some very yummy restaurants. This place is better than advertised. The concierge is very helpful and even left us...
