"Lovely staff and a comfy bed saved this property from a less favorable review. It feels like a converted hospital where the interior designer ran out of money. But, it is LITERALLY opposite the station if you need to catch a train. And they have gorgeous looking cannoli. Good in a pinch."
"The room smelt mouldy and damp as soon as you walked in. Beds very uncomfortable. Bath tub was disgusting, stained. Bathroom sink cracked and stained. Shower curtain mouldy and stained. Ceiling in bathroom had mould. Walls marked and needed patching. No air conditioning any where in the place. We had to open the window while sleeping as you could not breathe in the room, this was not safe in any way shape or form.There were really unruly guest making dreadful loud noise, banging and screaming...
"We had a room on the front, no air, room not aired, constant road noise all through the night. Mattress stained, carpet stained. Tables sticky in the restaurant - avoided breakfast."
"Hotel was in good condition, however one of the lights for bedtime reading was blown and the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied, but for one night, it was ok.
Food was not the best both breakfast and evening. Breakfast hot food was barely warm and evening was the same after waiting 30mins after ordering and only being us and another couple dining. There was a restaurant next door however they fill up fast and had no spaces for us, hence eating in the hotel.
In review....book the restaurant next...
"The pub was in an ideal location and although on a busy road, we were not bothered by any traffic noise.
The staff seemed rushed off their feet and we waited a while for our food with no offer of being able to order another drink whilst we were waiting.
However, this has not put us off returning as the food and accommodation was excellent and the staff were very friendly."
"This hotel does not have staff as you do a self check in so it is not possible to rate this part of the survey. The hotel offers no amenities, however there is a kettle and tea/coffee provided . The room was perfectly fine for one night. Comfortable and clean although needs updating and there was a bleach stain on the carpet. The room was unbearably hot. A fan was provided but it was not affective in the size of the room so maybe worth the hotel provided a second fan. Other than that not a bad...
"Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Hotel centrally situated next to bus stops and train station and opposite the beach. Only drawback for us was the very limited parking."
"Easy check in, nice guy behind the bar and the room was very clean. It was just a bit dated, but the pub obviously is full of history, so maybe the room suits the surroundings."
"Everything was great. Maybe a usb charging point might have been good in the room. The only annoying thing was the shower gel dispenser in the bath. It didnt work. Luckily i had my own to hand."
"Exceptional stay , staff were delightful and very helpful & supportive.
Breakfast & evening dinner were incredible , perfectly cooked eggs at breakie and fabulous quality of food for both supper and breakfast - definitely recommend.
We had a balcony room which was beautiful , overlooking the cricket pitch and was thing horses and tractors come passed, love it."
"The Rock Inn is a beautiful, old pub, set in the stunning Somerset countryside. The huge trees surrounding the pub offered fantastic shade during the recent heat wave, keeping my room pleasantly cool. Housekeeping during my stay was not great, but, as the cost of my four night stay was so cosy effective, willing to overlook, but, would have appreciated the bin being emptied at least every other day, a fresh towel every other day & complimentary tea & long life milk being topped up. Really...
