"Great staff and friendly service. Food was very good but they stop serving early (8pm on our day of arrival) so only just made it. Shower wasn't working on the first night but they got this fixed by the second night. Room quality was fine for the price. Would definitely stay again if in the area."

"This hotel was a trip highlight. Stunning building, easy parking and delicious breakfast. Huge bathroom and possibly the cleanest we have ever seen in a hotel. Fresh air, friendly staff and we would love to have stayed longer. Special hour out to the stocks in the kids playground. Love it!"

"A truly lovely stay from start to finish. Checked in with ease. We had a long drive and arrived later but reception staff were patient and professional. The building was clean, tidy and welcoming and our room delightful. Everything seemed fresh and spotless. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Again Staff were professional and friendly. "Have stayed the last couple of weeks and cant fault the place at all, very helpful and friendly staff, nice rooms - stayed in the cottage room last week and Deluxe room this week, cottage ones are fine and have everything you need.. Deluxe are nuch bigger with seperate seating area etc, well worth the extra if you want a treat..."

"Lovely Inn with friendly and welcoming staff. Room was spacious and bathroom clean. Over the bath rainfall shower. Food in the pub was good. Standard pub fayre with specials. Angel of the North visible from the window and five minutes drive away. We wanted to be near the Beamish Living Museum and this was perfect. A 10 minute drive away. The only slight disappointment for us was that breakfast ended at 9.00 so we had to be up early and would have liked a bit of a lie in, but that's just our...
