"A wonderful stay with exceptional service!
We had a fantastic stay at The Great House in Sonning and would happily return!
When we first arrived, the TV in our room wasn’t working. We mentioned it to reception, and they immediately offered us two alternative rooms, which we were able to go and look at before deciding. The whole situation was handled so quickly and efficiently, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The bathroom in the room we moved to was slightly smaller, but that...
"Lovely welcome and fast check in. Staff were all friendly. Had a good night's sleep. Modern decor. Breakfast was a little sad perhaps as it was later"
"The first thing you notice is the large car park. You can walk into the bar to tell them that you have arrived and someone will go through to reception to check you in. The check in takes a few moments and once you’ve got your room key (not a bit of plastic but a proper metal key!) You can go through to your spacious room. Mine was spotlessly clean.
The double bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed an excellent night’s sleep. In the morning a short walk to the bar/restaurant was rewarded with...
"Great breakfast, friendly helpful staff.
We also enjoyed an evening meal.
We stayed in an executive room in old part of inn. Wonky wooden flooring and 'old' furniture in keeping with property.
The very large, stylish bathroom is fine but finish is fading and shower head, hose and taps need replacing or descaling.
Would stay here again."
"Evening meal was excellent tbh but all went downhill in the morning went to have a shower and very little water pressure, and no hot water so unacceptable not to have a shower , breakfast was poor horrible baked beans, and the scrambled eggs weren’t real eggs manufactured to say the least. . Great restaurant shame about the accommodation."
"Good size rooms with a balcony . Comfy beds . Tea and making coffee facilities. Some rooms allow dogs if you book ahead. Excellent choice for breakfast."
"Room 308 is my preferred room and is reserved for me when I'm in town so if you do get the unlikely opportunity to stay in this room please treat it with respect. You can leave me a gift showing your appreciation.
Thank you and goodnight."
