"Air con didnt work. Apparently expedia should have notified us. Windows were screwed shut. Hotel is in a great location for gunwharf but definitely needs some work doing as tired and bathroom smells."

"This hotel is well situated and the reception and bar areas are top class. The staff also are not to be faulted, providing a warm welcome and nothing too much trouble. The bedroom and decor however, leave much to be improved upon. Poor paint finishing, a wash basin in the main bedroom area separate from the shower and toilet, a dreadfully weak shower and a strange pump noise going on throughout the day/night intermittently. All easily remedied which would make this welcoming hotel one of the best in Shanklin I reckon."

"We had no view of the beach, our stay was mostly pleasant but the noise at night was distracting. Loud doors slamming and dogs barking due to the loud sudden noises of how heavy the doors close."

"It's a very old building with only stairs but staff was more than pleasant adverse helpful. They bought our luggage up to our room and then even brought it back down I highly recommend this place."

"Great views from the bedroom towards the sea (apart from the infamous Shanklin lift shaft). Sun rise while lying in bed was fantastic to see. Staff were great and the food was good. Although some areas were a little worn and could do with a bit of TLC, it was very clean and tidy."
