"Room was lovely and clean and we had a modern bathroom. Staff were very friendly, food was excellent and service was great. Parking was easy and cheap (6 pounds I think) and the property is gorgeous. We had a room upstairs which was fantastic, our friends had one down the corridor which was different and not as nice. The only thing was the bed - it was extremely hard and impacted our ability to sleep well. If there was a topper or a different mattress I would stay again in a pinch, or just stay...
"Stayed for two nights as a stop over whilst going homeward. Wanted to have a look around the area.
Room was small but adequate. Clean with en-suite shower.
Ate in the dining area of the pub both nights and enjoyed the food. Informal but friendly service by all, and a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Recommend a walk to the canal and then the walk to Gloucester on the tow path. It’s well paved and flat and about three miles."
"We had a very good short break in Ross on Wye!! The area has a lot to offer.. we were particularly impressed with choice of excellent restaurants within walking distance from the hotel!! The staff were very friendly and accommodating! The breakfast was very good and the room was perfect for us offering a separate bedroom in their family suite."
"Room was nice and clean. The bathroom has clearly been redecorated recently. The bowl of retro sweets is a nice touch. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I'm not a natural bar person, but the clientele are all adults and wouldn't look out of place in a wine bar, so the atmosphere is quite civilised. The choice and quality of the breakfast is excellent and could probably give Simpson's in the Strand a run for their money. This is my sixth visit, so I guess I will have to recommend the place."
"The hotel was tired and crumbling in some areas. It had some visual charm. The room was spacious for the price. The shower pressure and temp were unpredictable. There were very drunk people in the bar and one man who was a resident of the hotel fell over in the courtyard. The staff were challenging why he had drank 3 bottles of red wine? but they shouldn't have sold him that much. He was clearly a regular. The high street was scary with beggars and people under the influence of drugs and...
