"I stay at the R&F frequently when visiting family back home in Barnstaple.
The hotel is lovely and staff fantastic and I truly don’t have any issues at all.
My recent stay however was totally ruined by the position/allocation of the room, which I stress is nobody’s fault, however I did experience a terrible night of deprived sleep which isn’t acceptable.
The hotel readily inform that their economy rooms are in a noisy area, however I had booked a comfort room which is on the first floor and on...
"Check in was easy, friendly staff, room decor was lovely, clean bedding. Parking was perfect and surroundings are beautiful. Had a beautiful breakfast too. Only negative was quite a few wood louse running round the bathroom, kept slippers on but may put you off if squeamish."
"You have to remember it’s a 14th century Inn and comfort is going to be a little tricky. If your 5 foot tall it would help but being over 6 feet was a mission to get to the bedroom.
Staffings is a little laid back but the location is excellent by the quayside . Unfortunately, didn’t have a view at all so would recommend you book one. Breakfast is to order and very good"
"Have known this hotel for a number of years and it was one of the best in the area but now needing a facelift without spoiling its design. Lift inside needs upgrading, fixtures and fittings need upgrading. STAFF were lovely especially Carol in the lounge area, very kind and helpful. Pool and garden area lovely. Parking good but limited spaces. Receptionists friendly and helpful. Hotel is well situated for Bideford T

"Room 18 2nd Floor..quirky lift to floor.
Room had everything we needed.
Went for a swim and relaxed in tye hot tub.
Breakfast was fab.
All staff were friendly, approachable and went out their way to ensure we had everything we needed to have an enoyable stay.
We will be returning here when we next need a break."
"Room of reasonable size, quiet and pleasant view. Pub light meal good and Sea Shanty singers a bonus.Good position to enjoy Lynmouth and convenient for the excellent Cliff Railway to see Lynton. enjoyed the Norther Walk and the Valley of Rocks.

"Pleasantly surprised staff were friendly and helpful the restaurant was good with bar games to entertain the kids we stayed for one night whilst visiting family the rooms were clean and comfortable and we all had a great nights sleep thank you"
"Everything was great. Maybe a usb charging point might have been good in the room. The only annoying thing was the shower gel dispenser in the bath. It didnt work. Luckily i had my own to hand."

"A wonderful place to stay in Ilfracombe. Lorraine and Adrian were excellent hosts and very welcoming. My room and ensuite were great, with a view down over the town and towards the sea. Spotlessly clean.
There is a new terrace area for seating outside and they have retained the Honesty Bar downstairs with a range of beers, ciders, wine and soft drinks.
The breakfast area opens out on to the terrace and the Breakfast menu is truly amazing with a massive choice and ALL dietary needs catered for....
