"Nice hotel, pretty standard layout, a little old now and tied in places by the look of it room is clean decor from the 1980s at Best functional, Service was pretty friendly on checking. Didn’t read anywhere about the parking issue they have outsourced it, so you have to pay extra for that And be careful if you don’t because it’s got APR cameras, not quite what you expect in the Lake District"

"The property was easy to find. Parking was easy. Got a friendly welcome. Breakfast was ready before time which was really helpful as we had to leave quickly. The room was a bit difficult to get in to as there was a bedside stand as soon as you open the door so had to negotiate around it everytime I entered & exited the room."

"I was staying here on business for 4 nights. The restaurant was closed on the first night due to staff shortages but when I did eat in the food was very good. Given what I was paying I was surprised that there was no carpet in the room and was glad I had taken my slippers!"

"I liked the location best. It is easy to access and centrally located in town; very walkable. The staff is very attentive and willing to help. Breakfast and other food options are excellent. Parking is not on-site and closest is a paid lot one hundred meters from the inn. Our room was directly above the street and entrance to the inn, so it was a bit noisy. Overall, I recommend Temperance Inn."

"Stayed for 3 nights, lovely spacious bedroom very comfy kingsize bed, breakfast was delicious my favourite was the pancakes with fruit. Evening meals were also delicious, presentation and taste. Hotel is in a very central location not far from Keswick and Grassmere. "

"The hotel is in a very central location in the middle of Ambleside however there is no on site parking available. My room was clean and comfortable. I found it difficult to sleep though as the room was really warm and there was a lot of traffic noise early in the morning. Breakfast was very tasty with a good choice and the staff were friendly."

"Just me and my young son went and we were given a lovely room that was big enough to fit a travel cot, well stocked with tea, coffee sugar and lovely toiletries on offer to use. When I contacted owners about something, it was sorted so quickly and the house keeper we met was lovely"
